Mommy's Shoes

Aidan has a new thing. He loooooves to try on mommy's heels and have me take pictures so he can see them. He just laughs and laughs. So... here he is in all his glory, I am so proud! The last one is my favorite, looks like he is posing.

Greatness!!

Water-hose Fun!!

A quick drink of water for the flower beds quickly turned into something else.

After he got really wet it was hard for him to run around so he just took his shirt and shorts off. This was pretty much his bath that night. He had a great time!

Florida time again - June 2008

Here are a few pics from our trip to Gammie & Popa's in June. Popa' is a huge Packers fan so Aidan loves to wear his cheesehead when we go and visit. When he was a baby he was way too small to wear it so we used to set him inside it. Mom, Aidan & I went to the alligator show and while we were there we took some pics of Aidan feeding the peacocks, he loved that! Popa' also took Aidan to buy some flowers so they could plant them together. Popa' did most of the planting while Aidan watched but he did enjoy watering the flowers as you can see from the pics. We also went to visit aunt Amber at work while we were there. (This was just a few weeks before her and Jeff moved to Hawaii).
Enjoy!

Zoo time - May 2008

We took Aidan to the zoo for the first time this year and we had so much fun. I think his favorite part was going into the Herpetarium, he loved looking at all the snakes and lizards. (He is a little obsessed with lizards) He wasn't afraid of anything we saw at the zoo, he wanted to touch all of the animals. It was so fun to watch his expressions and listen to him talk about all the different animals as if he knew them. Kids are soo fun!

Amber's Wedding - April 08

Yay, she found a good one! For those of you who remember my sister Amber you will be happy to know she is now a married woman. This past April Amber Rolen became Mrs. Jeffrey Spiegel. Her husband and her had planned to get married this summer but Jeff is in the coast guard and he was getting transferred to Hawaii (poor guy) for the next 4 years. So.... that meant if they wanted the coast to pay for Amber to move also with all her stuff they needed to be married before it was time to leave. It's very expensive to move all your belongings there and Jeff had to go on leave for 6 weeks before he moved and there just would not have been time to get married when he got back. So, Amber and my mom planned a wedding in a week and a half. Yes, that's what I said a week and a half. And if I might say so myself it was very pretty.

They are both in Florida so Amber decided to get married in my moms backyard, which is beautiful, if you don't mind if I boast a little. They hired a lady judge (which was a little strange, but it is legal) to marry them and invited everyone they knew there and invited anyone, via phone and e-mail (haha), that would make the trip or could make the trip to come. So my dad & half brother, aunt Jane & Uncle Mark, and I flew there for the weekend. Mind you she got married April 4th,tax season, which is the worst time possible for me to get off work and I usually would never be allowed. But, my boss is awesome and she let me off early Thurs and Fri to fly there for the wedding on Sat at noon. I was so distraught when I found out how sudden it would be that I cried all day, thinking there was no way I would be able to go, but when I talked to my boss, Karen, she saw how upset I was that she quickly eased my mind saying "Well of course you're going and if I have to use my miles to get you there I will". So of course I cried again, it was one of the nicest things anyone has done for me. Mat & Aidan weren't able to go because the flights were just too expensive that last minute.. Jeff's mom, dad, 3 sisters, and brother were also able to make it, which was great for him too, his family all live in New York. Oh, and they are the greatest people, Amber is very lucky to have such great in-laws.

Amber & my mom did such a good job decorating and ordering what was needed so quickly that I actually would have thought they spent a lot more time planning it then they did. It was a beach theme with purple and white, and she used shells and flowers to decorate. They had cupcakes instead of a cake and finger foods to munch on. She wore a white sundress and a flower in her hair and told everyone to dress casual or beach theme if they wanted. Overall she was happy with how it turned out. I told her the thing that really matters is you're marrying someone you love and who loves you and in the end all that wedding planning stuff just doesn't matter.

Oh, and Jeff, her husband, is the sweetest guy and perfect for her. We all have seen some of her boyfriends growing up and they were sometimes questionable. Right? He is the exact opposite. Handsome, hard-working, loving, Christian guy. I am very happy for her and super happy Jeff is now a member of our family. Here are a few pics from her wedding day.

Oh and bonus..... we get to go to Hawaii every year for the next 4 years to visit them!!!!!

Nail Salon Video

I love this video, never get tired of watching it.

New York, New York! - May 2008

So Mat and I went to New York in May and we had a great time. Gammie was in town so she stayed with him so it was really nice to get away for a few days. New York was so amazing, so different from here. We walked so much while we were there but it wasn't too bad. We didn't notice that our feet were killing us till we would get back to our room at night. There is just so much to see, I loved it!!!! We took the subway everywhere too, I really liked the subway, it made me feel like a new yorker, until Mat would take out the subway map while we were on the subway just to make sure we were on the right one. A little touristy.

I'm Three!! - April 2008

Here are a few pics from Aidan's B-day party and opening gifts from
mommy & daddy at home later that night. The last 2 birthdays I was soo busy making sure everything was ready for his party that I would forget to make sure my camera was charged up. Soo, Tracy has come to my rescue both years, making sure she took a bunch for me too, thanks Trace!!
We bought Aidan a Thomas the Train train set, he loooooves it! He is a little obsessed with Thomas and trains in general. After he opened the train set Daddy HAD to put it together that night so Aidan could play a little bit with it.
